World Menopause Month

Menopause is a natural part of ageing for woman across the world. Despite this, however, many are uncomfortable talking about it or seeking support to help with symptoms. As a result, many more people (men and women) don’t know enough about the menopause. This means they don’t know how to support friends, family and colleagues who are going through it.

World Menopause Month helps address this lack of understanding by encouraging people to talk about what they are experiencing.

The Aim Of World Menopause Month

Created in 2014 by the World Health Organisation, World Menopause Month and World Menopause Day (October 18th) raise awareness of the menopause. During the month, organisations come together to talk openly about menopause. They look at what it means to a woman mentally and physically, for example, as well as the symptoms and how to manage them.

Menopause Treatments

For some women, treating menopause means medication such as HRT. However, many women want more natural solutions. Thankfully, there is lots of information available online on which natural solutions work and why. Women’s Health Concern, for example, shares how women can reduce, relieve, and even prevent the menopausal symptoms by using diet and nutrition and complementary and alternative therapies.

One of those highlighted is the use of isoflavones, a natural form of oestrogen that occurs in plants such as red clover. Red clover has been used for thousands of years in Chinese medicine. There has been renewed interest in it over the last few decades with clinical studies showing it can help relieve menopause symptoms such as hot flushes and night sweats.

This is probably why Promensil, a leader in natural menopause remedies, use red clover in their products along with other vitamins and minerals designed to support women peri and post-menopause. To find out more about their product range, visit the Natural Complexions online shop today.
